Ho and the Baby Eater is a mythic fantasy tale set within the wider Seed of Kafiki mythology — an island world shaped by scarcity, tribal conflict, ancestral memory, and the pressure of ecological collapse.
Why It Exists
It exists to carry oral-story energy — myth, prophecy, ancestral voice — into a serial digital reading format, while building out a larger story world that can hold future Seed of Kafiki works.
What Was Built
A serialised manuscript published chapter by chapter through the Journal, alongside cover art iteration, visual identity work, and a worldbuilding continuity record for the wider mythology.
Build Story
The Original Problem
Long-form mythic fiction is hard to sustain and hard to publish incrementally — the world, characters, and prophecy threads need to stay consistent across chapters released over time, in a format built for serial reading rather than a single bound manuscript.
The Creative / Product Insight
Treat the story as both a literary work and a production system: pair ongoing manuscript development with a structured journal-publishing format, so each chapter can be released, read, and tracked as part of a continuing world.
The Role of AI Agents
Agents assist with drafting support, structural review, worldbuilding continuity checks, cover-art and image prompting, and the formatting work needed to turn manuscript chapters into a web-ready serial reading experience.
The Human-in-the-Loop Decisions
The human author remains the source of myth, voice, cultural judgment, character logic, and final prose — agents accelerate iteration and production packaging without taking over authorship.
Production Notes
Tech / Method Stack
Long-form manuscript / mythology / climate allegory / serial journal publishing / cover art direction / AI-assisted editing / image prompting / story-world continuity / web typography
Design Process
Cover art went through iterative AI-assisted exploration before landing on the published artwork, alongside typography and layout work for the chapter-reader format used in the Journal.
Prompting / Agent Workflow
Image prompting for cover and worldbuilding visuals ran alongside structural review passes on each chapter, checking prophecy threads, character logic, and island cosmology for continuity.
Testing / Validation / Review
Each chapter is reviewed for structural and continuity consistency with the wider Seed of Kafiki world before being formatted and published to the Journal's serial reader.

Outcome
Current State
Chapters are being released through the Journal's serial reader, with the wider Seed of Kafiki mythology continuing to develop alongside the published manuscript.
What This Project Demonstrates
The literary side of Hero's Journey Creative — using AI to accelerate drafting, structure, and production packaging while the human author retains full creative and cultural authority over the work.
